Shcuro - Echoplexia - Naive
Shcuro is Joao Ervedosa, a Portuguese DJ and producer based in Lisbon who runs the Sombra and Paraiso imprints. His latest release is courtesy of Violet's Naive label, where he presents a series of austere techno experiments on the Echoplex EP. From the body bashing industrial menace of 'Far Out', the strobe-lit peak time dub techno of 'Temptation' to the old-school IDM/bleep aesthetic of 'Bassforce' - it's evident that Ervedosa has a wide variety within his sonic repertoire. On the flip, there are some impressive remixes equally as worthy of your attention, such as Ilana's Rollin remix of 'Bassforce' which like its name suggests goes for that Rominimal style of breakbeat driven tech house, and to interesting effect.
