Sasha Dive - Number Seven EP ft Marc Philipp Remix - Epilog001

Inaugurating the Epilog label, Frankfurt's premier deep house enchanter brings his measured, long-form styles back into focus with two fresh productions that show Sascha Dive to be as adept at hypnotic dance music as ever. "Number Seven" is a foreboding cut that runs a purposeful rhythm across a bleak soundscape bereft of melody, instead populated by distant voices and subtle drones and tantalising moments of square wave bass that come few and far between. "Treehouse" is less hurried, letting the drums fall in an easy funk while a more consistent bassline rolls underneath, but still the tone is as sparse as you would expect from Herr Dive. Marc Philipp turns out a remix of "Number Seven" that stays equally restrained even if it allows more melodic content into the mix.
