Having made his name through releases on Let's Play House, Skylax and Seven Music, it makes perfect sense for man like montel to break out and launch his own dedicated label Bass Hit Dub. It makes equal sense for the Belfast based producer and DJ to helm the first release, which sees original Montel productions kept company by remixes either side of this 12". On lead track "The Journey," montel nestles snugly between house and techno with a hard hitting, yet atmospheric production that offers subtle hints of a Detroit influence, whilst the Illyus & Barrientos refix lends proceedings a more bass line driven sound. "For So Long" is montel in a deeper frame of mind and it's well complemented by a old skool warehouse recut from Oli Furness.
