San Francisco club ICEE HOT continue to make strides into the label ownership game with this latest platter shining the light on local talent Avalon Emerson. Apparently Emerson has been honing her production technique over the past few years whilst Djing, moonlighting as a fashion photographer and software engineer and it's easy to understand why ICEE HOTT were eager to sign her up on the basis of "Pressure". A twisted female vocal is central to the track and Emerson builds up a wonderfully brash techno track around it with some particularly devilish rave synths. Accompanying it, the crunchy "Quoi!" winds down the intensity a degree or two whilst on the flip houses two differing remixes from the hirsute brothers from other mothers known as Tuff City Kids with the 'Dirty Razor' remix our personal favourite.
