Delroy Edwards - Can U Get With - Gene's Liquor

The music of LA Club Resource boss Delroy Edwards seems to have become progressively darker and more abstract since he made his debut on L.I.E.S. two years ago; check the pure noise of his recent release as DJ Punisher for evidence. Those missing the "For Club Use Only" era Edwards will be most satisfied with the lead track on Can U Get With, this 12" for the recently founded Gene's Liquor label he's involved with. Working with just a few elements (pitched up vocal, a hypnotic funk loop and some degraded drums) Edwards crafts a real contender for best track released in December on "Can U Get With". It's augmented by two full throttle tools on the flip with the Ron Hardy style thumper "Untitled" just as good as the title cut.
