As producers, the two artists have joined forces for their debut EP: The choo-choo curves of ''Ness'' will undoubtedly bring the steamy heat to many dancefloors, while ''Zri Dub'' has already been turning heads via Eli Verveine' s recent podcast for RA.
With Eli Verveine already carving out a respectable reputation as one of the finest DJs in Zurich, she partners up with the hitherto unknown Schubaq for a deadly three-tracker that matches punchy, groove-laden prowess with mind-altering tones. "Ness" works around a sturdy shuffling house beat and dubby techno chords, while "Zuri Dub" leans on a mean bottom end to extol yet further melodic echoes while the drums flit between loose trills and a tight funk. It's interesting to find the B2 given over to a drone track in "Spencer F Byrd", where the dubby tendencies of the EP are given full scope to fire into the ether with no beats to get in the way.
