Debut solo album from Karin Dreijer Andersson (singer in The Knife)... losing the heavy beats and arpeggio synths that define the sound of the knife, this solo project finds her in a more reflective mood, its still unmistakably her with heavily processed, pitch shifted vocals but here they are given more room to breathe as more traditional instruments are used in tandem with the knifes pulsating electronics creating what can only be described as an electronic folk album, somewhat akin to later bjork material. beautiful yet haunting this album is a dark as they come and although its songs are immediate they offer lots of dense programming to discover on subsequent listens.
