Deflecting - Panic EP- Techno Gipsy

Named after the Moscow-based party of the same name, the Techno Gipsy imprint kicks off in style with the debut release from locally-sourced producer Deflecting, who marks himself out to be someone to watch closely indeed. The aptly named title track combines a rising synth line, dubby textures and scuffed, clattering rhythms that pitch his style somewhere between the elegant lines of the Ostgut Ton family and the looser styles of Swedish duo Skudge, something more apparent on "Treatment", where pitched chords ascend out of resonant bass. The remixes are excellent also; fellow Russian Unbalance reworks the former into a malleated workout of fluid textures, while Fachwerk lynchpin Roman Lindau reworks the latter with some typically scuffed rhythms.
