Given his success in recent years, it's hard to remember a time when few had heard of Brian Pinyero AKA DJ Python. That was certainly the case when he first released Dulce Compania, his debut album, back in 2017. The set was an undeniable success, not only establishing his name but also a trademark sound that combined intergalactic deep house sounds with drumbeats heavily influenced by a variety of global rhythms (most obviously reggaeton). If you missed out first time, it's worth grabbing this vinyl reissue. Highlights include vintage ambient house style shuffler 'Todo Era Azul (Siempre Dub)', atmospheric broken house workout 'Acostados' (where field recordings of distant traffic rise above fluttering synthesizer loops and delicately programmed percussion) and ultra-deep and positive closer 'Yo Ran (Do)'.
