CHARDONNAY BLAUW | 2019 | GENOELS ELDEREN

Dry white wine, pale lemon yellow color with beautiful tears.

On the nose the wine is slightly smoky (50% is spent in barrel for 12 months), and reveals aromas of almonds, butter, yellow peach and cedar.

The full and round mouthfeel of yellow fruits (peach, conference pear) and buttery touches ends on a nice long finish with a well balanced acidity.

Chardonnay Blauw is the intermediate cuvée of the domain in dry white wines.

Vinification : immediate pressing, cold settling, 50% entonnage,

Fermentation : 30 days at a maximum of 22°C, 50% in vats and 50% in French oak barrels

Ageing : 12 months on lees, 50% in vats and 50% in oak barrels.

Assembly 6 months in vats and one year in bottle.

On the plots used for the Chardonnay Blauw, the yield is limited to less than 40 hectoliters per hectare.

To be served between 12°-14° with seafood, grilled lobster or a carpaccio of sea bass.
