DJ Rum - Ode / Tailing - 2nd Drop

This two track 12" is the second and final part of Djrum's third suite for 2nd Drop and nicely complements the fifteen minute journey through luscious, sweeping cinematic arrangements that is The Miracle, showing off yet more of Felix Manuel's diverse production palette. Though grounded in hip hop, lead track "Ode" could easily be adopted by the footwork fraternity, given the demented beat that drives proceedings forth, yet it's slightly overshadowed by the B Side. Manuel's love for hardcore basslines and samples shines through on Tailing, which 2nd Drop describe quite aptly as a thumping techno beast.
